baby lucas

All photos by Frances Moulin. Editing by Monsieur Moulin.

My friend David and I have been friends for more than 20 years. We grew up on the same street and spent a good majority of our childhoods together. So when he told us he and his wife Ashley were pregnant, it was an indescribable moment. And now they have a beautiful baby boy named Lucas.

(Side note: They're high school sweethearts. Ridiculously cute, I know. Our other best friends are also high school sweethearts. And so are my sister and her husband. Is that uncommon?)

Random thoughts aside, when David and Ashley asked me, a dabbling photographer, to take his baby pictures, it was an honor, indeed.  Here are just a few pics from our photo shoot.

He's such a cool baby - laid back and observant. The only time he cried was when they did an outfit change and he got cold. Or perhaps he's just modest.

paper flowers

In preparation for warm, spring weather, and in hopes that I can put up my long sleeves for good this season, I give you an inspiring collection of paper flowers across the web. And be sure to check out the tutorials from Green Wedding Shoes and Ms. Stewart so you can attempt to bring spring into your own home or event. They say April showers bring May flowers, but lucky for you, allergies are not included with these beauties.
