rosemary crowns

All photos by Frances Moulin
This idea was adapted from rosemary crowns I saw during my neighborhood Fourth of July parade. Several people were wearing these beautiful rosemary creations adorned with simple metallic tinsel, and I thought it was too perfect for my friend Ale's bridal shower I recently hosted at my casa.

At first I was going to make each lady a crown as a favor, but then I thought it would be more interesting if each of us made our own. So naturally, I turned it into a craft. And it was a hit!

There's really no full DIY needed here. All you have to do is cut two to three long sprigs of rosemary, wash and dry, tie them together with fabric or twine, and adorn with ribbon, fresh flowers, tinsel, the sky's the limit, really.

Have fun, my beautiful rosemary princesses!

Penny tried to leave Ale some marital advice, but she ended up falling asleep on the cards instead.

alex's senior portraits

All photos by Frances Moulin

Alex is little sis to my friend Sam (see below), and she's just darling. I enjoyed capturing her beauty this lovely evening by White Rock Lake for her senior photos. And it was such a pleasure, being a little sister myself, to snap a few of those gorgeous sisterly photos.

Side note: As you can see, senior photos can be much more than holding your clarinet against a column in a blue-on-blue moment for a totally staged photo circa 2002. Not that I would know anything about that...

sam's maternity photos

All photos by Frances Moulin

Sam is one of those lucky pregnant gals who looks simply radiant and elegant at nine months along. I was thrilled when she asked me to take her maternity photos because I knew they would be gorgeous even if she were wearing a burlap sack. However, as a manager at Anthropologie, Sam has an incredible sense of style and showed up in this lace stunner. I like to think some of these shots, like the little gem above, look like they came out of a Free People maternity catalog, if there were such a thing.

Clearly, I hired the ducks. Because I couldn't have
asked for a better moment.

Sam absolutely shines in these photos. And on top of everything, she has such a kind heart and is going to make an amazing mommy to little Miss Rosaleigh. Cheers!!

kate turns one!

All photos by Frances Moulin

I can't even process the fact that this little cutie is one already. I feel like I just took Kate's newborn photos! She's such a beautiful spirit and brings happiness and smiles to any room she enters (usually by means of someone carrying her because none of us can bring ourselves to put her down).

Mommy Lauren and Daddy Mark are clearly proud of their sweet girl, and I've enjoyed watching her grow up, even if I am "the crazy lady with the camera." xoxo
